Please read these instructions: Do NOT copy or open Disk #2!
Damage to Software or PC may result!
1. Create a directory on your hard drive named: websoft, websearch, or what ever you feel like naming it. Write it down. 2. Copy all files on Disk 1 to this new directory. 3. Establish your internet connection. 4. Start your ftp software or unix shell account. 5. Change to your bin directory. (Some ISP’s call this cgi-bin or bin or cgibin or ?) ASK! 6. Upload all files on Disk 2 directly to your bin directory from the floppy. (4) Files (use ASCII mode. Binary WILL break the codes.) full.cgi full.cgi.txt full.cgi.head.txt full.cgi.foot.txt 7. CHMOD full.cgi to 755 8. CHMOD full.cgi.txt and full.cgi.head.txt and full.cgi.foot.txt to 644 (for chmod help open the ftp help file with your browser.) 9. Open the following file in your new directory on your PC with a text program such as notepad or wordpad. form.html 10. Change the following line to match the path on YOUR home page server then save as form.html http://www.web-search.com/bin/full.cgi Change to: http://???.???????/???????/bin/full.cgi (Some ISP’s call this cgi-bin or bin or cgibin or ?) ASK! 11. Your demo search engine is now up and running Open form.html on your PC's new directory with your browser. Follow the instructions on form.html on how to use Web Search. All Help and Faq files, setup files, options files, sample spreadsheet file, and links are located on your PC's new directory. Open setup.html with your browser. We recommend printing each page as you view them.
